Ethanol in Gasoline – Follow up

Just a quick follow-up to my post HERE about stations putting 10% ethanol in gasoline. One of the Weigel’s stations that is now doing it says their gasoline sales are down $2,000 over the last month.

If you disagree with stations putting 10% ethanol in gasoline and then trying to sell it as regular gasoline at the same price as 100% gasoline, let the stations know it. The best way is by simply letting the employees know that that you will not be buying their gasoline anymore and going elsewhere. They will start to take notice when it affects their bottom line. You can also contact the stations (I did this via www.weigels.com).

So far the stations I have seen doing this in the Knoxville-area are: Pilot, Conoco, and Weigel’s. I am now buying all my gasoline from BP/Amoco fuels if it is reasonable. Please post in the comments if you know of any other stations doing this.

The only station I’ve noticed doing it is Pilot. I usually go to BP. They may be a little more expensive sometimes, but you get quality gasoline for your money.
