GOP Delegates after Michigan
According to CNN’s numbers, here are the number of GOP Delegates through Iowa (and a few already committed for future states):
| Candidate | # of Delegates |
|---|---|
| Mitt Romney | 42 |
| Mike Huckabee | 22 |
| John McCain | 19 |
| Fred Thompson | 6 |
| Ron Paul | 2 |
| Rudy Giuliani | 1 |
| Duncan Hunter | 1 |
1,191 Delegates are needed to win the nomination, and clearly all of the candidates still have a mathematical chance. Romney’s strong finishes in all the primaries thus far has sprung him into the lead, but he is not expected to do well in South Carolina.
