Bob Barr as a Viable Presidential Candidate?

Could Bob Barr emerge as a viable third party Presidential Candidate?  It appears it may be possible, according to a press release I received this weekend.

In a survey commissioned last week by the Bob Barr 2008 Presidential Exploratory Committee, seven percent of likely voters responded that they would vote for the former Georgia congressman for president if he were on the ballot in November. Shortly after Ross Perot announced he was re-entering the presidential race in October 1992, he polled at seven percent. Barr is considering whether to seek the nomination of the Libertarian Party for president.

This will be interesting to watch, especially i he starts spending some money and really pushing for this.  I know we will hear that Bob Barr will be a spoiler, but people may in fact choose him because he is better than the other two options.  I have not yet investigated many of his positions, but I though it was interesting he is polling this well, even though “he has never run as a national candidate and has yet to spend any money on advertising.”
