Charlotte Fourth Ward
I am in Charlotte with the wife this weekend to attend the Wachovia Championship. This evening we heading downtown to grab a bite to eat and walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather. We walked a couple blocks from the restaurant and found Charlotte’s Fourth Ward. What a great find! It is a mix of historic homes and new condos/homes. It is very tastefully done, and we felt very safe walking through the area, even after the sun set. Some of the trees and architectural details of these homes are wonderful. Unfortunately, we didn’t find the brochure describing the houses until after it was almost too dark to make the houses out. Also, I didn’t have my camera, so I couldn’t take any pictures to post here. However, just walking through and looking at the houses, even without knowing any of the history was a treat. If you are in the Charlotte area and have a little bit of time, I highly recommend taking some time to enjoy this area.
