Biden is Obama’s VP Pick
I know this is quite a bit after Senator Obama’s decision that came across this morning to pick Joe Biden as his Vice-Presidential running mate. I am not a fan of Senator Biden, but that probably goes without saying. I guess it helps Obama’s lack of experience. However, it goes against his “change” mantra, as Mr. Biden is certainly a Washington insider, and he is also a Senator, so he also does not have any executive experience.
And I also thought the way he decided to pick him was very anti-climatic and strange. Mr. Obama had a lot of people waiting to know who he was going to pick, especially those in the media. Most people in the country probably do not care very much. So he had everyone waiting to hear. And how does he announce it? Via text message. At 3 am EST. On a Saturday. Weird.
Cool Cat Daddy-O (via ACK) says the following:
I know your campaign prides itself on bringing many young voters into the political world, some of whom were probably partying and having fun at 3AM when those text messages went out about your VP pick.
Some of your supporters are, believe it or not, older, married, and even have families. Like me.
Joe Biden’s a great guy, I’m sure.
I like him and I’m glad you chose him as your running mate. It was a wise and mature decision to select someone who can help you govern rather than choosing someone because they can bring x number of voters to your side.
But 3AM?
You’re the one campaigning to answer the phone at that time, not me.

Biden, what a shame. Just another career-minded politician who ws trashing Obama early on AND said he would never be VP. Terrible pick, I sure with the democrats would get it together. This whole nomination process has been like a circus, everything’s just for show with no substance. No extra debates, no plans for “change”, it’s all fluff.

Obama was probably at some ballin’ party and he was like “OH SNAP! I forgot to announce Joey B! Yo Michelle, what should I do?” and Michelle was all like “Don’t worry Barry-O, jus’ grab your Sidekick!”
Yeah, that’s probably how it went down.
