Random Sports Mumblings (RSM) #1

I am going to start a new series of posts, hopefully.  The plan is to talk about what is on my mind for sports.  This will comprise the previous weekend’s games, current news, etc.  The plan is to have a “quick hitting” summary of my thoughts.

Moving Day

Moving Day came and went on Saturday, and it was a day filled with work and furniture that seems to get heavier every time I move it.  Thanks to the folks from our Sunday School class and my parents for helping with the move.  Also, thanks to the in-laws for keeping the little one.  Otherwise [...]

Barber Shops

Men’s Health has an outstanding piece on Barber Shops.  It was written by Craig Bridger and is wonderfully written.  It is a five pager (really, five web segments) and will take a few minutes of your time, but it is well worth it.

First is a Gillette 1940s style Superspeed from the 1950s (not sure of the exact date until I get it).

The next is a Gillette Tech.

I am excited, if you can’t tell!

Many of you folks that know me probably will not be too surprised with this, but my recent interest is traditional wetshaving.  Until a couple months ago, my exclusive means of shaving was an electric Norelco razor.  It has always given me pretty good shaves, and the convenience of shaving in the car was ideal. [...]

Cleaning Up Wordpress Titles

If you want to clean up your Wordpress titles, check out this excellent post by Megan McDermott.  I finally removed the unnecessary “Blog Archive” that was included in every post’s title on the title bar.

Default title format
The default wordpress titles look like this:
Home page: Blog Name (and that’s it)
Category Pages: Blog Name » Category
Archive Pages [...]

Top 10 Free Windows Apps I Use

Below is  a top 10 list of Windows Applications I use daily or weekly.  I would like to know some that you recommend.

gVim – Graphical Vi.  Vi is a great text editor in unix.  It has lots of commands to do things quickly.  Most people either love it or hate it, but I am certainly [...]
