Local Tech

I had a need for a wireless (802.11) camera recently, and so I decided to check a few local places before purchasing online.  The problem is those local places are dwindling with the loss of CompUSA and Circuit City.  Most places I went looked at my with a blank look on their face.  Best Buy had one camera.  No one else had any.  Radio Shack has gone crazy.  They are a mini Best Buy now.  Except they have a tiny selection and no knowledgeable employees (at least at the ones I went to.  See Phil T’s post for confirmation of this).

HH Gregg baffles me now.  The first time I went into that store a couple years ago, I was amazed.  I liked the layout, the employees were helpful, and they matched the price on an item I wanted.  However, this time, their selection was awful (unless you wanted an appliance), and no one offered to help me in 10-15 minutes.  I finally had to go seek somebody out after a couple guys passed me without even acknowledging me.  Unbelievable.

Oh well, the camera has been ordered from Amazon.
