Remember McCain’s Past

As I look at this evening’s Florida results I am highly disturbed that John “I was in Vietnam” McCain won the primary.  Now word is that Rudy Giuliani is going to withdraw and support McCain.  This is awful news for conservatives.  Clearly McCain’s lies about Mitt Romney’s support for timetables in Iraq worked for him.  [...]

Benazir Bhutto – Presidential Candidate Responses

As most of you know, Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the first female PM in an Islamic state, was assassinated this morning, and al Qaeda is claiming responsibility.  I am not going to cover the details of the actual event or the breaking news (Drudge is doing a great job of this, as [...]

According to an article on MSNBC, Fred Thompson says he must finish in the top three in Iowa.

CNN/YouTube GOP Debate

Some quick comments on last night’s CNN/YouTube Debate.  I once again thought Mike Huckabee did very well and probably won the debate.  A survey of Florida voters and Iowa voters echoed this.  You can find that poll HERE.  I also thought Mitt Romney did pretty well, except for his stumble over the question of whether [...]

Note to Giuliani – You Can’t Have Things Both Ways

First we hear that Rudy Giuliani may invite his wife into his cabinet meetings if he is elected President. Clearly, he was trying to go the Bill/Hillary Clinton “2 for 1″ route. Now he says the following according to WCBS-TV:

The former New York City mayor is fending off increased media scrutiny of his [...]

Giuliani Agrees to Newt’s Debates

Jonathan at GOP Bloggers is reporting that Rudy Giuliani has agreed to the 90 minute debates Newt Gingrich has proposed for all the Presidential candidates to engage in. I think this is great. I hope all the other candidates will sign on. For those that did not see the initial debate between [...]

Neither Giuliani nor Romney closed the deal at CPAC, and McCain didn’t even show up.

John Fund has a good article about CPAC at OpinionJournal. Conservatives certainly want a candidate they can get behind that they think can win without giving up his their morals, but no front-runner has emerged.
The desire for a candidate who unites the conservative movement the way Ronald Reagan did was palpable. Almost every presidential candidate [...]
