After the intermission (you can see my first half post), the full orchestra came back minus the piano. They played Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 in honor of what would have been Mendelssohn’s 200th birthday. I really enjoyed this piece. It consisted of four movements. I particularly liked the final movement, [...]

Well, we are at the halfway point of the symphony, and so far it has been very good. It started differently with no on stage when the lights went down. Then a group of 11 (an eleventet ?) came out and played a Bach Concerto.
Then the featured pianist came out and played Mozart’s Concerto No. [...]

As I was traveling back from a weekend in Pennsylvania yesterday, a church shooting took place in Knoxville at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. Alright, so I realize it is now the next morning and this is no longer even semi-live blogging the symphony. However, I thought it best to keep a similar title for fluidity. The second half of the concert was wonderful. Whereas the first half was new music by American composers which are still alive, [...]

As mentioned earlier, my wife and I are attending the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra tonight as their guests. It is intermission, and so far it has been outstanding.
Jeffrey Biegel is the guest pianist who played a concerto which was written for him. It was Concerto No. 3 for Piano and Orchestra. He easily played every key [...]
