John Hawkins has an excellent commentary posted about the two sides of a possible John McCain GOP nomination. 1) First of all, if McCain’s the nominee, there is going to be a strong “rally-round the-flag” effect in the conservative media. That is natural and healthy. You don’t always get what you want in politics and [...]

While the results are still rolling in, John McCain has won New Hampshire. It looks like Romney will come in second and Huckabee in third. However, McCain’s victory speech is rather boring and disappointing, in my opinion. He has read almost the whole thing. It seems like he has no idea what it says. He [...]

UPDATE (1/3/2008 11:23 am): Sources inside the Thompson camp are denying The Politico story. IowaPolitics.com The Corner on NRO H/T ElephantBiz for the Update The Politico is reporting that Fred Thompson may drop out after today’s Iowa caucuses. As most of you know, Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the first female PM in an Islamic state, was assassinated this morning, and al Qaeda is claiming responsibility. I am not going to cover the details of the actual event or the breaking news (Drudge is doing a great job of this, as [...]

Only ONE Senator, Jon Kyl (R-AZ) had the guts to vote against the Bush-Clinton housing bailout. Of course Barack Obama, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and three other Democrats decided to sit this one out. Surprise, surprise. These guys hardly vote on anything of any significance any more. Michelle Malkin has a good round-up.

Some quick comments on last night’s CNN/YouTube Debate. I once again thought Mike Huckabee did very well and probably won the debate. A survey of Florida voters and Iowa voters echoed this. You can find that poll HERE. I also thought Mitt Romney did pretty well, except for his stumble over the question of whether [...]

According to the latest Rasmussen poll, Mike Huckabee leads all GOP hopefuls in Iowa. Candidate Percent Mike Huckabee 28% Mitt Romney 25% Rudy Giuliani 12% Fred Thompson 11% Ron Paul 5% John McCain 4% This is a major comeback for Huckabee. This is not the end of the world for Romney, who is still [...]

The latest Zogby poll shows all five major Republican Presidential candidates would beat Hillary Clinton in the general election: In the new survey, Clinton trailed Senator John McCain 42 percent to 38 percent, former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani by 43 percent to 40 percent and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney by 43 percent to [...]

Yesterday, the war funding was passed by the Senate – 92-3!! Only 3 Democrats voted against it (Byrd, Coburn, Feingold). However, the biggest thing for me was that those that want to lead our country on the Democratic side of the aisle DID NOT VOTE. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Chris Dodd, and Joe Biden all [...]
